Restoration

Restoration is very important to us at Building Stone Cork and is a tradition in our family back through the generations with fathers, uncles and grandfathers having been involved in various restoration projects.

Our family history has inspired us to take up and continue the trade. Preserving old skills, using natural materials, using breathable lime instead of cement and re-roofing old buildings using reclaimed slate is what we love to do. We believe that every building is worth saving.

Your restoration projects may qualify for the GLAS grants, which is an annual grants scheme for the conservation and repair of traditional farm buildings and related structures. 

Some of the restoration projects we have worked on include; Dripsey Castle, Castlepook Doneraile, Cecilstown Castle, Coolbane Mill.

We have restored old orchard walls in Carrigadrohid, Milford and Dripsey.

Old farm buildings in Rathmore, Grenagh, Lombardstown, Cullen, Kanturk, Midleton, Fermoy and Boherbue have now been restored and are back in use again.
